CEMUIQ

Multiuser Equipment Center of the Institute of Chemistry

Services in Instrumental
Analytical Techniques

The mission of the Center for Multiuser Equipment is to provide reliable and efficient services in instrumental analytical techniques, supporting the activities carried out at the Institute of Chemistry, in external academic sectors, and also in private industry.

For over 30 years, the IQ-Unicamp community has had access to multiuser instrumentation laboratories serving the entire internal community.

Today, CEMUIQ consists of eight Institutional Laboratories, covering a wide range of analytical techniques and occupying approximately 1,500 m² in Blocks A, D, E and K of the IQ. Our instrumentation includes around 60 small, medium, and large-scale devices, many of them state-of-the-art, available to the entire community, supporting the activities of various research groups and undergraduate courses.

We also provide services to the external community, serving other teaching and research units at Unicamp, other higher education and research institutions, as well as private companies and industries.

CEMUIQ also includes four Institutional Laboratories accredited by CTNBio for work involving GMOs (bacteria, fungi, and cells), managed under the responsibility of CIBio-IQ.

Each Institutional Laboratory has one or more specialized technicians responsible for performing measurements, providing training, and assisting in equipment maintenance and the smooth operation of the laboratories. The laboratories also have faculty coordinators who support technical and administrative matters.
